A double birthday @ the Derby

Kevan and Marilyne with their birthday cakesOn checking this blog, we last visited the Derby Arms as recently as May, but with a double birthday in the family we needed to eat out somewhere special and the Derby always gets plenty of votes.

The first birthday is Mum, who celebrates tomorrow, then the following day it's Carole's Dad's birthday. Even thought they aren't allowed to open cards or presents yet, we felt they deserved a cake each, provided they were willing to share!

Family picture in the Ribble ValleyThe Derby Arms sits in a picturesque spot between Longridge and Chipping, and on a nice day the hills in the background make it a good spot for some family photos. Today the clouds were a little sinister-looking, but even so, with the aid of a picnic bench for support, we were able to get a rare photo of the six of us all together.

hi Iain, sorry to read about your friend, it's very sad.

Thanks for the photo book, it does look good, as I can't do my L3 course perhaps we could follow the assignments together.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
