See the Sea at Southport?

At work, when I mentioned that we were visiting Southport on our first day off, one of my colleagues challenged us to photograph the sea! Although a seaside resort, the tide goes out so far it's rarely in sight, and the long pier rarely gets its feet wet.

So when we reached the road by the beach, we were both surprised to find that it was high tide! I took a few snaps and because the weather was overcast, felt they would look their best with a sepia conversion, so they looked like old postcards. The give-away is the sign sticking out above the water on the first picture - it's much too modern!
