Alnwick gardens was the idea of the Duchess of Northumberland who wanted to transform the derelict gardens at Alnwick Castle into a spectacular garden for the public and the community.
We enjoyed the best of the weather here during our visit. Certainly by the number of pictures I took there were lots to see and do - so much so that it was difficult to decide which to include here...
Over the last few years my interest in photography has grown, and I started blogging in early 2008 as a way of challenging myself to take more and better pictures, which I could share with friends and family.
I’ve been a digital SLR user since 2005 and over the years I’ve gradually acquired a number of lenses which has allowed me to try some different styles of photography.
After turning 40 in 2010 I've now upgraded to a new Canon 7D camera, so I've no longer any excuses for poor quality pictures!
I’ve recently joined my local camera club to learn more about photography, see other styles and techniques and get some feedback on my work. I’m also enjoying the challenge of the monthly competitions, both in digital and print format, which is making me think about presentation too.
I currently live in Blackburn, Lancashire with my wife Carole.
