Today was a sad day. David had been ill for some time before passing away on April 4 and today was his funeral.
David and I grew up together, we went to the same primary school and our parents have been friends for well over 40 years.
Our thoughts and sympathies go out to David's family and loved ones.

- Over the last few years my interest in photography has grown, and I started blogging in early 2008 as a way of challenging myself to take more and better pictures, which I could share with friends and family.
I’ve been a digital SLR user since 2005 and over the years I’ve gradually acquired a number of lenses which has allowed me to try some different styles of photography.
After turning 40 in 2010 I've now upgraded to a new Canon 7D camera, so I've no longer any excuses for poor quality pictures!
I’ve recently joined my local camera club to learn more about photography, see other styles and techniques and get some feedback on my work. I’m also enjoying the challenge of the monthly competitions, both in digital and print format, which is making me think about presentation too.
I currently live in Blackburn, Lancashire with my wife Carole.
