We were off to a show last night as the Blues Brothers were in town at King George's Hall. Carole was quite excited as she's never seen the film (can you believe that??). The show was very entertaining and the backing band fantastic, especially the lead guitarist who was superb.
The two main characters were in good form and belted out all the songs from the film and several other soul classics too. They were both full of energy on stage and Elwood was terrific on the blues harp. He was stood by the merchandise desk on the way out and someone suggested it wasn't him playing, so he did a quick solo to us for good measure.
Can't fault the show, but the only disappointment was the size of the audience as only 500 or so turned up, but those who were there (some of whom were dressed for the occasion) thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Didn't get any decent shots on the night, so this morning I gathered a few things together on a Blues Brothers theme and took a few still life photos instead. Did I say whether I was one of those who dressed up??
