Sadly, Aunty Greta passed away last week at the age of 84, and today was her funeral. Although an unavoidably sad occasion, the funeral was very much a celebration of her life, with everyone dressing cheerfully rather than in traditional black mourning clothes.Aunty Greta was an infectiously joyous person, a kind and unselfish lady who always saw the positive in people and in life. She would always brighten an occasion with her laughter and, of course, her singing. She was a lifelong friend and neighbour of my grandma and the special friendship they developed between themselves and their families has thankfully continued down the years right through to my generation.
She was a wonderful lady who has left behind many happy memories. She'll certainly be missed.

I am sure that the legacy of love and friendship will continue within our families for many years to come.
